What is a lead?

In Ingegno, a lead is a potential client — someone who has shown interest but hasn't become a paying customer yet. Leads are the starting point of your sales process.

The lead list

Click Leads in the left sidebar to see all your leads in a table view. The table shows the following columns:

  • Name — The lead's name
  • Email — Contact email
  • Company — Company name
  • Status — Current status (e.g., "New", "Demo_requested")
  • Score — Lead score with level indicator (e.g., "Low: 0", "Medium: 75")
  • Pipeline — Which pipeline the lead is assigned to
  • Stage — Current stage within the pipeline
  • Assigned To — Team member responsible for this lead
  • Value — Estimated value
  • Created — Date the lead was created
  • Actions — Quick action menu (⋯)

Creating a lead

Manually

  1. Click Leads in the left sidebar
  2. Click + Create Lead (top right)
  3. Fill in the details: name, email, phone, company
  4. Click Save

From a form

If you've set up a lead capture form (in the Forms section), new submissions automatically create leads in your CRM.

Via import

You can bulk-import leads from a file:

  1. Click Leads in the left sidebar
  2. Click Import Leads (top right)
  3. Upload your file
  4. Map the columns to Ingegno fields
  5. Review and confirm the import

Filtering and searching leads

Use the search bar at the top to find leads by name, email, or company.

The filter bar offers:

  • All Statuses — Filter by lead status
  • All Scores — Filter by score level
  • All Pipelines — Filter by pipeline assignment
  • Date Range — Filter by date range

Click the View button to customize which columns are shown in the table.

Lead scoring

Ingegno automatically assigns a score to each lead. The score is displayed as a colored badge with a level:

  • Low — Shown in gray
  • Medium — Shown in orange
  • High — Shown in green

The score appears both in the lead list and on the lead profile page.

Lead profile

Click on any lead to open their detailed profile. The profile is organized into tabs:

  • Overview — Overview with activity timeline, showing all interactions and tasks. You can add new activities with the + Add Activity button
  • Appointments — Scheduled appointments for this lead
  • WhatsApp — WhatsApp message history (if connected)
  • Live Chat — Live chat conversations (if connected)
  • Activity History — Complete activity history in chronological order
  • Notes — Free-form notes from your team
  • Documents — Attached files and documents

Contact information sidebar

On the right side of the lead profile, you'll find:

  • Phone — Phone number
  • Company — Company
  • Status — Current status badge
  • Score — Score badge
  • Source — How the lead was acquired (e.g., "website")
  • Tags — Add tags to categorize the lead (type and press Enter)
  • Custom Fields — Add custom fields on the fly by entering a field name and value
  • Created — Creation date

Editing a lead

Click the Edit button (top right of the profile) to edit the lead's information. You can also use the menu for additional options.

Organizing with tags

Tags help you categorize leads. For example: "Hot", "Referral", "Event".

  • To add a tag, open a lead profile and find the Tags field in the right sidebar
  • Type your tag and press Enter to add it
  • You can create new tags on the fly

Converting a lead to a client

When a lead becomes a paying customer:

  1. Open the lead's profile
  2. Use the menu or the conversion option to convert to client
  3. All data, history, and activities are preserved
  4. The contact moves from the Leads section to the Clients section

No data loss

Converting a lead doesn't delete anything. The full history carries over to the client profile.
