Manage your product and service catalog for use in proposals and quotes.

Overview

The Products feature lets you build and maintain a catalog of items you sell or offer to your clients. Whether you offer physical products, services, or both, you can create and organize them centrally in Ingegno CRM. Your products become building blocks for creating proposals and quotes, making it faster and more consistent to put together offers for your customers.

Accessing the Products Page

To access your products catalog:

  1. Click Products in the left sidebar under the CRM section
  2. You'll be taken to the Products page at /crm/products

The page displays the heading Products with the subtitle "Manage your product catalog".

The Products List

When you have products in your catalog, they appear in a list on this page. Use the search bar at the top to quickly find a specific product by name or other details.

If you haven't created any products yet, you'll see an empty state message: "No data available" with the description "Manage your product catalog". This is your cue to start building your catalog.

Creating a Product

To add a new product to your catalog:

  1. Click the + Create Product button in the top right corner (marked with a brown/orange accent)
  2. The "Create New Product" dialog will appear

Product Details

Fill in the following fields in the create product form:

  • Name: The product or service name. This is what appears in proposals and quotes. Example: "Website Design", "Consulting Package"
  • Description: Optional details about the product. Use this to record notes that help you and your team remember what this item is for
  • SKU: A unique identifier for inventory or internal tracking purposes. SKU stands for Stock Keeping Unit and is typically a code like "SKU-001" or "PROD-WEB-01"
  • Type: Choose from the dropdown whether this is a "Product" or "Service"
  • Price: Set the standard price for this item in euros (€). The default shows 0.00

Saving Your Product

Once you've filled in the details:

  • Click Create Product to save and add the item to your catalog
  • Click Cancel to cancel and close the dialog without saving

You can always edit or update product details later. Start with the essential information and refine as needed.

Product Types

Ingegno CRM supports two product types:

Product

Use this type for physical goods or tangible items you sell. Examples: software licenses, equipment, merchandise, supplies.

Service

Use this type for work-based offerings. Examples: consulting hours, design services, technical support, training.

The type you choose is purely for organization—it helps you and your team understand what category each item falls into when building proposals.

Using Products in Proposals

Once your catalog is set up, you'll use these products when creating proposals. When building a proposal:

  1. Add line items from your product catalog
  2. Adjust quantities, prices, or descriptions as needed for that specific proposal
  3. The proposal pulls from your master catalog to maintain consistency

This saves time because you don't need to re-enter product details each time—they're ready to use whenever you need them.

Best Practices

  • Keep SKUs unique: Use a consistent format for SKU codes to make them easier to track and search
  • Write clear names: Use product and service names that are immediately recognizable to you and your customers
  • Be thorough with descriptions: Add notes that help you remember key details about each offering
  • Review regularly: Update prices and descriptions as your offerings evolve to keep your catalog current
