What is a pipeline?

A pipeline is a visual representation of your sales process. Each pipeline has stages that represent the steps a lead goes through — from first contact to closed deal. In Ingegno, pipelines track leads as they progress through your sales funnel.

The pipeline list

Click Pipelines in the left sidebar to see all your pipelines. Each pipeline is displayed as a card showing:

  • Pipeline name and description
  • Number of stages (e.g., "3 stages")
  • Number of leads currently in the pipeline (e.g., "0 leads")

Default pipeline

Every workspace comes with a default pipeline called "First Contact" with these stages:

  1. First Contact — Initial outreach or inquiry (0% probability)
  2. Proposal — A quote or proposal has been shared (60% probability)
  3. Order — The deal is confirmed (100% probability)

Each stage has a probability percentage that indicates how likely a lead in that stage is to convert into a client.

Creating a pipeline

You have two options:

From scratch

  1. Click Pipelines in the left sidebar
  2. Click + Create Pipeline (top right)
  3. Enter a name and description
  4. Define your stages

From a template

  1. Click Use Template (top right)
  2. Browse available templates
  3. Select one to start with a pre-configured set of stages

The Kanban Board

Click on any pipeline card to open its Kanban Board. This is where you visually manage your leads:

  • Each column represents a stage
  • Each column header shows the stage name, number of leads, and probability percentage
  • Lead cards can be dragged and dropped between columns as they progress
  • Empty columns display "No leads in this stage"

Customizing stages

From the kanban board view:

  • Click + Add Stage (top right) to add a new stage
  • Use the menu on each stage header to rename, reorder, or remove stages
  • Each stage has a configurable probability percentage

Removing stages

If a stage has active leads, you'll need to move them to another stage before removing it.

Working with leads in the pipeline

Assigning leads to a pipeline

Leads can be assigned to a pipeline when creating or editing them from the Lead section. Once assigned, they appear in the pipeline's kanban board.

Moving leads between stages

Drag and drop lead cards between columns on the kanban board. The stage and probability update automatically.

Pipeline and Lead table

The lead list (in the Leads section) includes Pipeline and Stage columns, so you can also see pipeline information directly from the lead table view.

Multiple pipelines

You might want separate pipelines for different processes. For example:

  • First Contact — For initial lead qualification
  • Upsell — For selling more to existing clients
  • Partnership — For tracking business partnerships

Each pipeline has its own stages and probability percentages.

Best practices

  • Keep stages clear — Each stage should have a clear entry and exit criteria
  • Use probability percentages — They help you forecast revenue and identify bottlenecks
  • Update regularly — Move leads promptly to keep the board accurate
  • Start with templates — Use pipeline templates to get started quickly with industry-standard stages
