Email in Ingegno
Overview of email integration in Ingegno: send, receive, and track emails linked to your leads and clients.
Why email in the CRM?
Email is still the most common way businesses communicate with leads and clients. By integrating email with your CRM, you get:
- Full context — See every email exchanged with a contact, right on their profile
- Team visibility — Any team member can see the communication history
- No switching — Send and receive emails without leaving Ingegno
- Automatic linking — Emails are matched to contacts by email address
Where to find email
Email in Ingegno is part of the Channels section — a separate area from the main CRM sidebar. To access it:
- Look at the icon bar on the far-left edge of the screen
- Click the chat icon (it looks like a speech bubble)
- The sidebar will switch to show Channels with three sections: Email, WhatsApp, and Live Chat
Under Email, you'll find:
- Inbox — Your inbox with all synced emails
- Account — Manage your connected email accounts
- Settings — Email-specific settings
The inbox
The Inbox shows all your emails in a two-panel layout:
- Left panel — Email list with sender, subject, preview text, date, and status tags (e.g., "Sent" for sent emails)
- Right panel — Email detail view (select an email to read it)
At the top, you'll find:
- Search — "Search emails..." to search through your emails
- Email count — Shows the total number of emails in your inbox
- Action buttons — Mark as read, archive, and delete emails
- Pagination — Navigate through pages of emails with "Previous" and "Next" buttons
Sending emails
You can send emails directly from Ingegno. The email is sent through your connected account, so it appears in your regular email client's sent folder too.
You can compose emails from:
- The inbox in the Channels section
- A lead or client profile — to automatically link the email to that contact
Supported providers
Ingegno supports three types of email connections:
- Gmail — Connect your Gmail or Google Workspace account
- Outlook — Connect your Microsoft 365 or Outlook.com account
- SMTP — Connect any email provider via custom SMTP settings
How linking works
Ingegno automatically matches incoming and outgoing emails to contacts based on email address. When a match is found:
- The email appears on the contact's timeline
- Team members can see the full conversation history
For emails from unknown addresses, you can create a new lead or link them manually to an existing contact.
Privacy
Ingegno only syncs emails after you connect your account. You can disconnect at any time from the Channels > Email > Account section.
